The Cognitive Enrichment Institute is the first authorised training centre (ATC) in South Africa, in collaboration with the Feuerstein Institute and the Institute for the Advancement of Cognitive Education. Their approach is rooted in Educational Psychology, utilizing cognitive and metacognitive tasks for assessment and intervention for learners of all ages, from pre-school to adult education. This enables individuals to make advancements in their cognitive, social, and emotional development.
The Cognitive Enrichment Institute offers Group Cognitive Development Programs, one-on-one Mediated Learning Experiences, and additional resources.
Founder and director, Lilian Lomofsky, provides Feuerstein’s Mediated Learning Experience (MLE) and Instrumental Enrichment (FIE) cognitive programs, while also conducting FIE workshops for educators, therapists, counselors, and parents. She has collaborated on various projects with South African universities and schools.
Lilian Lomofsky has many years experience as an educational psychologist in the private sector.
She was a senior lecturer at the University of the Western Cape where she was responsible for the supervision of pre service and in service teachers. She also oversaw and taught trainee Educational Psychologists. She has published research articles in academic journals and authored chapters in books.
Today her institute offers a variety of services for learners, teachers, lecturers, and therapists as well as parents.
